DIANE SMYTH | administrator

Diane carries out organizational and administrative duties to ensure the smooth and effective running of the School. Responsible for advising students of School policies and regulations, program requirements, and provides information regarding University support programs and facilities.



VALERIE DALEY | administrative assistant

Valerie is often the first person you will come in contact with from the School and her friendly persona makes her an ideal person for this role. Some of Valerie’s responsibilities include responding to student inquiries, maintaining the student resource centre, key distribution, and the booking of School equipment and review rooms.



TERRY FLAHERTY | wood shop technician

Terry assists and trains students in the wood shop. Previous to coming to Carleton, Terry ran his own wood shop with projects as diverse as the reconstruction of a historic 288 ft covered bridge, sets for film, TV, and theatre, and has built his family home - a straw bale barn frame. With a background teaching theatre skills to youth of all ages, and training carpentry apprentices, Terry brings a strong set of teaching skills to the Industrial Design Department.



ANDREW PULLIN | computer technician

Got a computer problem? Andrew is the computer technician extraordinaire. Andrew keeps the computers running smoothly and helps students with their technical computing problems, whether it be a MAC or PC issue.



JIM DEWAR | machine shop technician

Jim is a licensed machinist with over 25 years of custom and production machining experience. Working with the chief technician in the metal shops, Jim enthusiastically assists students in bringing their ideas to reality by advising on material selection and the fabrication process. Jim is also the guy to see for computerized model machining.
